The objectives of the class camps are:

  1. To promote a sense of bonding and identity in the class
  2. To encourage an atmosphere of openness and sharing
  3. To encourage students to anticipate issues relating to interpersonal relationships and plan ways to deal with them.
  4. To build a safe and supportive class environment to complement and grow together with the academic rigour.

The class camps comprise:

  1. 2-day Class Camp at Sembawang for most classes
  2. 4-day Class Camp at Gunung Ledang (Mt Ophir) for selected classes

The activities will be experiential in nature to allow group dynamics (new or existing) within the class to naturally evolve or manifest in a setting outside the normal classroom environment.

The activities will include:

  1. Simple walking/hiking
  2. Improvised rafting / kayaking
  3. Shelter building and outdoor cooking
  4. Night walk
  5. Profiling activity using BIRDS (awareness about self)
  6. Facilitating the class to articulate personal and group values, as well as setting class goals

4-day class camps at Mt.Ophir

  1. Waterfall scrambling
  2. Trekking
  3. Night walk
  4. Campfire
  5. Profiling activity using BIRDS (awareness about self)
